Apple Snack Cake

Many years ago, "snack cakes" were all the rage. They were quick to fix, usually rich flavored, moist in addition to dense picayune cakes in addition to they were roughly e'er baked inwards an 8" 10 8" or 9" 10 9" pan. They were perfect for... "snacking!!"

This snack cake is over the overstep delicious. Three whole apples are packed into this cake, thence you lot tin give notice imagine how moist it is.  On 24-hour interval 2 (if in that place is whatever left) it is twice every bit moist!!

 

½ loving cup butter (room temperature)
1 loving cup sugar
1 egg
3 medium apples, chopped
½ loving cup chopped walnuts
1 loving cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla

Grease a 9" 10 9" baking pan in addition to preheat your oven to 350.

Cream butter in addition to sugar, thence add together egg in addition to vanilla in addition to rhythm out until fluffy, add the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon in addition to nutmeg in addition to rhythm out until smooth. Fold inwards apples in addition to walnuts.


Mix (by hand) just until everything is good combined. Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until toothpick tests build clean (my oven took 43 minutes).  Frost alongside unproblematic vanilla glaze if you lot similar (but it isn't necessary).

 
NOTE: Use whatever proficient baking apple, I similar to role Granny Smiths.
